Starting with the idea of building and coding a lamp, a breadboard, arduino, resistors, LED's, a battery pack, and a few jumper wires were purchased. Having little to no experience previous to this project, arduino code was researched and similar projects were found. The code was then modified to allow for a fluxuation of colors to appear from the LED's.

The lamp itself consists of eight 1/4" MDF circles laminated, a sheet of vellum, and a laser cut outline of the Chicago Skyline on black construction paper.

A battery pack with 9V battery, arduino board, breadboard, six resistors, four LED's and nine jumper cables make up the "brain" of the lamp.
