Team Resident; Practice Space

May 2014 - August 2014

A summer training program, located in Detroit, MI, that focused on creating a better neighborhood for the site location and surrounding areas. Working with Teresa Sanderfer to help bring her ideas to paper, a team of four worked throughout the summer to help her vision come to life. The end result can be found here.

Teresa had purchased a home in Detroit, MI across the street from the Motown Museum with the hopes of turning the building into a consignment shop. With the original ideas of purchasing a small building, Teresa quickly came to question how to fill the rest of the space.

By the end of the term, 2641 W. Grand Boulevard would become West Grand Inn. Modifying the typical Bed and Breakfast into a Bed and Bistro, West Grand Inn hoped to have a full scale restaurant and retail boutique. The retail concept for West Grand Inn centered around it being a B&B where everything was for sale spread throughout the rooms.
