The Green Block

Fall 2015

This project was completed for the Bedrock Real Estate Services 2015 Urban Housing Academic Competition. Students competed for first place in the competition which looked for sustainable, innovative, and inclusive urban housing to the Brush Park Neighborhood of Detroit, MI.

Building off the existing Brush Park Development, this proposal aims to help redevelop the Brush Park neighborhood. Located just North of Downtown Detroit, the Green Block consists of commercial space at the ground floor and forty-eight residential units across three floors. There is enough retail space for ten different commercial spaces to lease or buy out. This proposal also has a focus on incorporating planned green space and connecting the Brush Park neighborhood through the use of these spaces.

**This project was a group effort, worked on by myself and two other classmates. Not all work shown is completed by myself alone. For a full view of the Competition book, please click here.
